  • When technology captures your information automatically, such as when you use the Explorer page, or when you visit other pages on JOE. Automatically collected information may include:

    • Traffic source and region
    • Interaction details (e.g., length spent on a page
    • Types of statistics viewed
    • Device type
    • Type of data downloaded
    • Graphics exported

How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information collected from your interactions with JOE to:

  • Improve user experience on the site
  • Compute metrics regarding user interactions with the site
  • Contact users suspected of violating JOE’s Terms of Use
  • Subscribe users to email list regarding JOE promotional materials

Specifically, we share your information with Hyperobjekt, a web development service provider.

We require this service provider to keep your personal information secure, and do not allow them to use or share your personal information for any purpose other than providing services on our behalf.

We may also share your personal information when required by law, or when we believe sharing will help to protect the safety, property, or rights of the university, members of the university community, and university guests.

What Choices You Can Make About Your Information

Direct Collection

You may choose not to enter personal information into our website. You can change email and communication preferences by clicking on the Unsubscribe links at the bottom of any email from us.
